Highly recommended, finally a movie for all those eggs out there.

I loved it, but I’m not an egg.  A light hearted look at those 80’s sterotypes of maori.

He mihi ki a Taika.  A very talented matua he is director/writer/producer/actor (what doesn’t this guy do).

The story follows an 11-year-old Boy  (who everyone calls “boy) and his little brother Rocky who “must reconcile reality with the fantasy dad (played by Waititi) they created in their imagination after their father returns home after many years away.

This movie has involved Maori at every level, from directing to starring, promoting to hosting, filming to writing. It is a unique film that is by Maori, about Maori and for the world
